Great suggestion!
I'd love to hear what others have to say about their experience in the freelance world or even within a company.
I'd like to start making the meetups a little more interactive as well. maybe this time we can meet somewhere else that is not a bar and use a projector or TV. (personally I wouldn't mind hosting the meetups at my place, I could also get the projector)
I'll suggest another meetup and we can start planning ahead. we'll try to make them at least 2 weeks apart.

Since we didn't get many people on our last meetup, should we plan for a day other than Wednesday? Until now it has been the most requested one. Tuesdays - Friday after 6 are good for me.

Yeah, friday nights actually work well for me too (class during the week). I'm down for light street. I also have space/whiteboard at my apt in Mt. Vernon

Hi Nancy, thanks for taking the initiative but I think this monday may be too soon and may not fit other's schedules. (mine included) I was hoping to get more responses from the group, I'll be sending an email to see if Friday the 24th is better.

Well, if we wind up at a private residence, I could spring for the beer as I brew my own. Also, I've got a friend with a need for someone with Flash experience.

I'll be planning on trading beer for resumes and contact info. I hope no one is afraid of the dark - I've got a blackberry stout on tap I'll be bringing.

Don't know about other people in this group but I'm not ok with going to someone who I know nothing about house.

Terry seems like a pretty cool guy. I don't see what the big deal is :)

@ Nancy: I wouldn't really be concerned if i were you :) I think it's really nice of Terry to let us meet at his place.

Nancy, as a father of two girls, I certainly do understand your concerns as a woman. My suggestion is you bring a friend. Judging by the crime map at http://crimebaltimore.com/ the address seems relatively safe.

Did the venue change? I got an email on Sat to that effect, but the meet-up event still says Terry's place. Please clarify...

No the place hasn't changed, I doubt going to a bar would make a successful meeting. it will be too crowded on a Friday.
